Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz will start without the team’s No. 3 receiver during “Monday Night Football” against the Buffalo Bills . Receiver Jauan Jennings is among three Vikings players ruled out against the Bills due to injuries, including quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring) and running back Demond Claiborne (knee). Safeties Theo Jackson (quad) and Jay Ward (knee) are listed questionable to play. Jennings and Claiborne were injured during Thursday’s practice, according to coach Kevin O’Connell, who added the team will likely elevate a receiver from the practice squad for depth behind Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Tai Felton and Myles Price. Will that be receiver Jeshaun Jones, who got the nod in Week 5 at New Orleans? Advertisement Or receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who has yet to play since signing Oct. 7? Coaches are still “working through” which player will get elevated. O’Connell noted Jones and rookie receiver Dillon Bell play the “F” role, or slot receiver, which Jennings has played about 60% of his snaps this season, per Pro Football Focus. But he added they could piece it together with Price and Felton should they choose to elevate Beckham. “We have confidence in all those guys,” O’Connell said. The Vikings recently tried to trade Jennings, who has caught six passes for 54 yards in six games, to the San Francisco 49ers, where Jennings played his first five NFL seasons.
